Defining standards for endometriosis follow-up and improvement of care
The EndoFollowUp Project aims to define standards for endometriosis and adenomyosis follow-up and to improve long-term care from the patients’ perspective. We want to understand how patients feel after treatment – whether after surgery or medical therapy.
Why is this survey needed?
Endometriosis is not rare – about one in ten women from the onset of menses through menopause are affected.
Many know how strongly endometriosis and adenomyosis can impact daily life – both physically and emotionally. Although treatment options have improved in recent years, one area remains largely unexplored: follow-up care, ie. the medical support and check-ups patients receive during and after treatment.
This survey aims to change that! — and we need your input to succeed.
The EndoFollowUp Project
We are an international team of researchers, physicians, and patient representatives. The project is based at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, at the University Hospital of Zurich, Switzerland, and includes two doctoral theses.
We developed this survey together with affected women and it has been approved by our local ethics committee. Our goal is to identify existing gaps in follow-up care for those affected by endometriosis and adenomyosis worldwide – and to help develop future evidence-based standards of care.
