Associazione
Italiana Endometriosi Onlus (AIE)
will be intensifying it’s legislative
awareness campaign. The highly successful
campaign, now arrived at 35,000 signatures,
consisting of a petition for a law on
endometriosis, will step up even further
during awareness week when signatures
will be collected at manifestations
organised throughout Italy. The petition
calls for a law on endometriosis in
order that - amongst other things -
endometriosis is recognised as a significant
healthcare concern and chronic disease;
requests for economic support to help
women and their families to cover health
expenses are supported; the Government
gives it support to awareness-raising
activities, centres of excellence are
accredited that would work in synergy
with local centres, and which would
train surgeons.

New Zealand is launching

off" Endometriosis Awareness Week.
The advert, which will
appear in the Sunday newspapers emphasises
that every month doesn't have to a pain:
"Some figures
show that one in five New Zealand girls
and women have endometriosis. It's a
condition that causes a great deal of
pain and disrupts school and working
life. It can even lead to infertility.
If that time of the month causes distress
for you or somebody you know, the reason
could be endometriosis. To find out
more about the symptoms and what can
be done, see our website".
